Spring 2010 Belt Prep Cycle - M1 Review

In the Friday 3/26/10 BB Prep class we reviewed all 12 techniques and Blocking, Striking, Finger and Coordination Sets from the Month #1 BB Prep Curriculum.

Review and practice all 12 techniques in the air or with a family member at home. Follow DVD #1 or search the student resources for technique descriptions. Review and practice with another Advanced Brown Belt outside of class. 15-30 minutes of practice a day will make a huge difference!

If you are preparing for the Spring Flip Test it is important to also:
  • Review ALL of your forms & sets
  • If time, review Month #2 techniques
  • If time, review Month #3 techniques
  • Run! A minimum of 1 mile 3x/week

Spring 2010 Belt Prep Cycle - M3W4 - Review

In the Friday 3/19/10 BB Prep class we reviewed all 12 techniques required for next week's Month #3 BB Prep Tip Test. If you can correctly demonstrate the 12 self defense techniques in the Month #3 curriculum you will earn an orange tip.

The Month #3 BB Prep (Orange) Tip Test will be held in the BBT Brown-Black classes on M 3/22 & TU 3/23.

Review and practice all 12 techniques in the air or with a family member at home. Follow DVD #3 or search the student resources for technique descriptions. Review and practice with another Advanced Brown Belt outside of class. 15-30 minutes of practice a day will make a huge difference!

Remember, you can still pass your Flip Test, without passing your BB Prep Tip Tests. However, you are much better positioned to pass your Flip Test if you earn your white, yellow and orange tips leading up to the Flip Test. If you do not earn your orange tip this month you will know that you need to work more on the month #3 curriculum. You will also know that you need to prepare more to be successful on the BB Prep Flip Test.

Spring 2010 Black Belt Prep Cycle - DATES

Spring 2010 Black Belt Prep Cycle Dates:
***Please note: these dates were updated 2/25/10. The Flip Test has been moved to late April because of different school' spring breaks. This change also moves the BB Exam to the end of May - Memorial Day Weekend... giving everyone more time to prepare and succeed :)

"M" = Month, "W" = Week so, "M1W1" = Month #1, Week #1 Curriculum. The dates listed are Fridays unless otherwise specified. Please note: Each week's curriculum begins on the Monday preceding in the Brown-Black class and ends on the Friday specified in the BB Prep class. So, the M1W1 curriculum begins on Monday 12/7 in the Brown-Black class and ends on Friday 12/11 in the BB Prep class.

Review and practice all 12 techniques in the air or with a family member at home. Follow DVD #2 or search the student resources for technique descriptions. Review and practice with another Advanced Brown Belt outside of class. 15-30 minutes of practice a day will make a huge difference!

Remember, you can still pass your Flip Test, without passing your BB Prep Tip Tests. However, you are much better positioned to pass your Flip Test if you earn your white, yellow and orange tips leading up to the Flip Test. If you do not earn your yellow tip this month you will know that you need to work more on the month #2 curriculum. You will also know that you need to prepare more to be successful on the month # 3 BB Prep Tip Test.
